Andy’s Pre-Game Thoughts:
Our second semifinal in 2025’s Celebrity Jeopardy tournament is contested between Robin Thede, Natalie Morales, and Roy Wood, Jr. The stats say that Robin is a slight favorite tonight, having picked up 35 correct responses in the quarterfinals—but I do think that all three of these players are very good at Jeopardy!, and I think all three of these players are more than capable of picking up a victory tonight.
As a reminder, tonight’s game airs at 9:00 (8:00 Central) on ABC in the United States and CTV2 in Canada.

I was hoping that Roy would win. This was because of the Encyclopedia reading. I used to do that as a child, but just because I loved reading and discovering information so much, not from being punished (which TBH I seldom needed to be, but back in the day we’d get switched if we needed to be punished).
When Roy couldn’t think of West Virginia (which came to me immediately because of the part of the clue concerning opposite side of the country), I expected Ken to say something like “I guess you didn’t make it to the last volume of the World Book Encyclopedia!” [which was W-X-Y-Z].
I had this Final Jeopardy, but then I didn’t. Hearing the answer clue I knew the word was “supercalif…” and ASSUMED that was the response it called for. Of course I missed the part about this film. Besides the producers at the Judges table would have fun deciding what was adequate for trying to write “supercalif…” during the time ‘Think” was playing.
Roy seemed to be writing for an inordinate amount of time, so I was afraid that he was writing ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’! He was still wrong, but it seemed odd that what he did write was shorter than ‘Mary Poppins’. I’m sure the video is edited in going back and forth showing all three players, so I’m guessing it was the editing that made it seem that he was writing for a longer time than he actually was.
