Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Siblings) for Friday, April 11, 2025 (Season 41, Game 155):

They used some of their $65 million settlement to stockpile bitcoin & in 2014 they founded their own cryptocurrency exchange

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Stephanie Rozman, a publications manager & editor from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Stephanie Rozman on Jeopardy!
Michael DiSciullo, a real estate agent from Austin, Texas
Michael DiSciullo on Jeopardy!
Andrew Hayes, a law student originally from Tupelo, Mississippi (2-day total: $45,401)
Andrew Hayes on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Andrew Hayes did his postseason qualification chances a world of help yesterday by being the only player to get Final Jeopardy correct, bringing his chances of making it to Champions Wildcard up to 58.48% at this point. Today, he goes for win #3 against Pittsburgh’s Stephanie Rozman and Austin’s Michael DiSciullo.

I do want to at least mention that a Los Angeles court did rule yesterday that Sony is now allowed to take the role of CBS (formerly King World) in distributing the show to local stations. Again, this should have no material effect at this point on how anyone watches the show

In 2004, Cameron & Tyler Winklevoss sued Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, claiming that Zuckerberg had stolen the brothers’ idea of “ConnectU” in creating Facebook. After competing in rowing in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, they later founded the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange; Gemini has seen a number of legal battles over the years, including a 2023 lawsuit by the state of New York. They also used the money from the Facebook settlement to stockpile bitcoin; the brothers are still among the people with the largest share of that cryptocurrency.

  1. My mind went straight to the Winklevoss twins….but not sure if I was remembering the spelling or pronunciation correctly. I probably only knew of them because of ‘The Social Network’

    • Mark!

I figured it out, but was not sure how to spell the last name.

Never saw that movie and am not on social media!

  2. I wonder if the Winklevii from that movie would be acceptable… 🤔

  3. This should be a contender for game of the year. Really well played by all contestants today.

  4. Robert J. Fawkes | April 11, 2025 at 7:01 pm |

I guess I follow Bitcoin and the crypto markets enough that I was aware of the Winklevoss twins to get this one right away. Thought about it having the possibility of a Triple Get but wasn’t sure if that was because it came to me right away or because it was easy enough. Great game in any case as Peepe indicated.

    • I imagine today had to be a record for highest scoring third place finisher.

      • Robert J. Fawkes | April 11, 2025 at 9:24 pm |

That’s an interesting question, Tyler. Imagine having over 25,000 and you’re in third place. There’s probably some Jeopardy! scholar on here who can tell us what that record might be. Anyone know?

        • Jake Garrett finished in third place in his Second Chance semifinal on 12/20/23, despite having $35,800 at the end of the game.

If you just want regular play, that record is much older – Chuck Wills finished the 10/21/92 game with a pre-doubled $32,000, yet still came in third.

          • Robert J. Fawkes | April 11, 2025 at 11:17 pm |

Thanks for the update, MasterDoge. Imagine, $32,000 and came in third. SMH.

          • Impressive with the stats, MasterDoge. 👍
Losing with that much dosh would be pretty lame – but at least you could take comfort in knowing you’d played REALLY well…
Much harder to accept on the stage than on the couch at home, where that’s the best outcome anyway.

Speaking of playing well (or not)…
I knew exactly who those twins are (except I always forget about the Olympics) from The Social Network and after. But for the life of me, I couldn’t get to their names. All I could come up with was Wackenfoss 🤦‍♂️

I would have been lucky to even try “Winklevii”!
            😂

          • If any of these three contestants (who all did know the correct FJ! response) had been far enough back in third place that they couldn’t possibly end up any higher even if they did successfully double-up in FJ!, I’d hope they would have tried the Winklevii response just for fun.

  5. I’d seen the Social Network though I’d been aware of the Winklevoss twins before that (probably because I was “in” computers and had twins who were starting college right about the time Facebook was new and acclaimed), but I didn’t recall the winning of a lawsuit (rather than there just being in-fighting), much less the cryptocurrency aspect, but they did immediately come to mind PARTICULARLY because of being in the category SIBLINGS. Unfortunately I could not remember their last name within the 30 seconds. All I could recall was that it was odd, slightly long, and had an “enk” sound within it.

  6. Trevor Panno | April 12, 2025 at 11:40 pm |

Stephanie was in second place going into final jeopardy and Michael was in third place but then it got reversed.
