I haven’t done any sort of editorial post recently, but I have now thought it necessary to do so.
Weekend Jeopardy! Recaps Are Here!
After much hemming and hawing on my own end, I have now decided to post recaps for the weekend games of Jeopardy!, mostly because of the “it’s new to somebody” factor. The only small change is that I have decided to debut this a couple of weeks earlier than I originally was going to. Basically for the uninitiated, these weekend reruns generally feature long-running champions from the previous season. (Season 40, in this case).
This weekend’s recap (August 23-24) can be found here.
My friends over at Geeks Who Drink have introduced a daily trivia game—Thrice! Existing to make daily clever trivia content accessible to a wide audience, it's a daily challenge that tries to get you to the answer via three separate clues. It has a shareable score functionality to challenge your friends and new questions every day will give you a new daily social ritual. You can find it at thricegame.com.

A Streaming Update For Season 42
In case you haven’t heard, late this week Hulu announced which library episodes will be the initial library offerings for the show.
The first five library seasons (billed as full seasons by Hulu) are Seasons 20 (2003-04), 21 (2004-05), 27 (2010-11), 34 (2017-18), and 35 (2018-19).
It should be noted that the show has said that these library offerings will be switched up on occasion, so I would not hesitate to watch any episodes from these seasons that you would like to see!
Additionally, for our Canadian fans, Michael Davies did announce over on Substack that Bell Media will be the show’s streaming partner in Canada; however, specific details on implementation had still yet to be ironed out as of the time of the announcement. I expect to see some sort of announcement on Bell Media’s side in the coming weeks.
We have many new offerings at The Jeopardy! Fan Online Store! Here are our current featured items, including our new Masters Season 3 Player List T-shirt:
Speaking Of Substack: A Suggestion For Michael Davies
I know that Michael Davies has said that he is looking for the show’s Substack to become a place for Jeopardy! fans to congregate to discuss the show after it’s taken place, and has certainly considered doing a daily Substack Live with contestants to discuss the show.
I still firmly believe that trying to do a daily Substack Live with contestants is going to be too much work for very little actual benefit, at least compared to something akin to what #JeopardyLivePanel was from 2014 to 2018, that being a weekly roundup with contestants. I absolutely believe that live chats with contestants are best held on a weekly basis, on the weekend, for the most overall benefit.
However, I do think Substack could be an excellent daily place for fans to discuss the show if Davies wants to utilize the platform in that respect. I would say (with the proviso that the show needs to be prepared to moderate hateful comments towards contestants out of its discussion areas, as the last thing the show needs is for a bunch of hateful comments to overflow discussion when a trans contestant is competing) that the show could absolutely start discussion comment areas on a daily basis for fans to discuss that day’s game, and I might even posit that the show’s overall fandom might be better off for it!
In Closing
Thanks for reading my editorial this week; I do plan on this returning as a weekly feature going forward.
