Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
The semifinals of the encore presentation of the 32nd Tournament of Champions open today with a matchup between Adriana Harmeyer, Ryan Manton, and Will Wallace. As I said back in February, “both Ryan and Will were strong on high-value clues in the quarterfinals. That being said, Adriana is always in contention if she’s in score contention going into Final Jeopardy—she was 14/17 lifetime on the 61st clue of a game up to this point.”
One thing that I do want to mention this morning: I really think that it cheapens the professionalism of the show that someone—presumably a lower-level staffperson somewhere within the workings of the show itself—is blabbing to tabloids giving “exclusives” about the show’s changes. Especially considering some of the things that I think the show will need to do going forward in terms of potentially making changes silently—and I’ll talk about this a little bit more in the coming weeks—I personally believe that having a tabloid mole inside the show actually threatens the show’s entire existence.

Currently connected only by the Korea–Russia Friendship Bridge—a rail bridge—over the Tumen River, Russia’s shortest border is with North Korea at the mouth of the Tumen. In 2024, the two countries reached an agreement to build a road bridge.
Interestingly, this was an insta-get final for me because this specific border was once the subject of a question in one of my pub quizzes many years ago. I’m curious to see how our players on stage handle this Final Jeopardy clue.

Andy’s Thoughts:
- I’m generally okay with Adriana trying $400 clues in more academic categories over a more pop culture-oriented category in the search for DD3. I could definitely see her thinking that it would be less likely to be in the MOVIE & SONG TITLE category.
Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:
(Scores: Adriana $22,000 Ryan $12,000 Will $200)
Adriana: Standard cover bet over Ryan is $2,001. (Actual bet: $3,000)
Ryan: You have to bet at least $8,000 to have a chance of winning. If this was regular play, I’d say to cap your bet at $11,599. (Actual bet: $10,001)
Will: Bet whatever you like. (Actual bet: $200)
Updated ToC odds:
Adriana +180
Isaac +670
Drew B. +770
Amy +1700
Neilesh +480
Mark +960
Drew G. +600
