Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
Our weekend encore presentations continue to feature the ToC players of Season 41, with this weekend’s game featuring Ashley Chan going for victory #4 against Jasmine Zhou and Jordan Carr Peterson.
One thing that I said in my initial preview of this game that ended up proving to be incredibly important was that not only was Ashley failing to make cover bets in Final Jeopardy, but Ken was also making a point of noting this in his game previews.

Scene 3 of Tennessee Williams’s A Streetcar Named Desire describes Blanche Dubois thusly: “It’s a French name. It means woods and Blanche means white, so the two together mean white woods. Like an orchard in spring! You can remember it by that.” Definitely “incongruous to this setting” (as per the script) when she arrived at her sister Stella’s home.
I wish the show would ask more Final Jeopardy clues like this, to be honest: it was relatively straightforward and it would keep contestants making cover bets from the lead.

Game Recap:
In one of the more exciting game of Ashley’s run, all three players were in five figures entering Final Jeopardy, after Jasmine doubled up early and Ashley picked up $6,000 on the Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy.
Final Jeopardy turned out to be a triple-get—and that’s where things got very interesting. Ashley went for the very small bet of $20,900, which was enough to take victory after Jasmine only barely covered Jordan’s score and didn’t go all-in herself (despite Ken announcing Ashley’s propensity to do exactly what she did in the previous episode.)
Next week features Ashley going for win #5 against Sarah Rosenthal and Eric Weldon-Schilling.
Scores going into Final:
Ashley $18,800
Jasmine $15,600
Jordan $10,200
Tonight’s results:
Jordan $10,200 + $1,800 = $12,000 (Who is Blanche DuBois?)
Jasmine $15,600 + $5,000 = $20,600 (Who is Blanche Dubois?)
Ashley $18,800 + $2,100 = $20,900 (Who is Blanche DuBois?) (4-day total: $67,400)

Game Stats:
Ashley $15,200 Coryat, 21 correct, 2 incorrect, 36.84% in first on buzzer (21/57), 0/0 on rebound attempts (on 0 rebound opportunities)
Jasmine $14,200 Coryat, 16 correct, 1 incorrect, 26.32% in first on buzzer (15/57), 0/1 on rebound attempts (on 2 rebound opportunities)
Jordan $10,200 Coryat, 13 correct, 1 incorrect, 21.05% in first on buzzer (12/57), 1/2 on rebound attempts (on 2 rebound opportunities)
Combined Coryat Score: $39,600
