Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category 21st Century Broadway) for July 4-5, 2026 (Season 41, Game 135):
A review of this musical noted “sacrilege” & said it was “blasphemous” but “its heart is as pure as…a Rodgers & Hammerstein show”
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:
Jamie Hare, a library worker from Decatur, Georgia
|
Alex DeFrank, an inventory specialist from Brooklyn, New York
|
Jack Goldfisher, a screenwriter & director from Los Angeles, California (1-day total: $32,401)
|
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
We skip over a couple of days from last week’s encore presentation to get to this game, where we see Jack Goldfisher (who you might remember from Season 2 of Pop Culture Jeopardy!) defends his title against Alex DeFrank and Jamie Hare.
I still don’t know why Jamie wasn’t a part of Second Chance after her performance in this game, but I guess the show had its reasons. In any case, I think Jamie was the most blatant snub from last year’s postseason.

The Book Of Mormon details two Mormon missionaries in Africa, attempting to preach their faith to the inhabitants of a remote village in Uganda. It won nine Tony Awards, grossed over $800 million, and has run for over 5,000 performances at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre. Its 2011 New York Times review, quoted in this weekend’s Final Jeopardy, was written by Ben Brantley.

Game Recap:
Why did I think Jamie was the most blatant snub? Doubling up twice in Double Jeopardy from the Daily Doubles, that’s why! $21,200 entering Final absolutely should have made her one of the first players that the show Called. In any case, Alex DeFrank had $26,400 entering Final, and won when Final turned into a triple get.
Next week features Alex’s second game against Clare Murray and Brett Aresco.
Scores going into Final:
Alex $26,400
Jamie $21,200

Tonight’s results:
Jack $6,200 + $2,200 = $8,400 (What is The Book of Mormon? Hi Isabella <3)
