The Dominance Continues

My apologies for the delay of this recap!

Tuesday’s game saw the following Final:

Category: FOOD & DRINK

Clue: A sign of a trend, in 2010 this product passed Pepsi to move into the No. 2 spot in U.S. soft drink popularity

Eugene Chuang 6600 – 3600 = 3600
Robin Raffer 12800 – 8000 = 4800
Andrew Moore 17700 + 7901 = 25601 (2-day total, $56,802)

His challengers for Wednesday: Ravi Saxena and Henry Watkins!

Andrew seems to enjoy, once again, hopping all over the board! Midway through the round, the board looked like Swiss cheese! The Daily Double was in WHERE ARE YOU FROM $1000 and Andrew got to play it. Scores were:

Andrew $3,200
Henry $1,400
Ravi $1,000

His bet was $2,500. Clue: If you’re a Crucian, you’re from this U.S. Virgin Island. His correct response put him at $5,700!

At the first break, it was all Andrew; the scores were:
Andrew $7,300
Ravi $2,800
Henry $1,800

Coming out of the break, Henry and Ravi were able to get in a few times! Andrew continued his domination of the game, though! Scores after the J! round:

Andrew $10,300
Ravi $3,800
Henry $2,800

DJ! round categories:
ASTRONOMERS
“PAN” HANDLING
PAINTING & SCULPTURE
RELATIVE-ITY
ARTIFICIAL
INTELLIGENCE

PAINTING & SCULPTURE $2000 had the first Daily Double; Andrew got to play it, with scores at:
Andrew $11,900
Henry $4,000
Ravi $3,800

His bet: $4,000. His clue: The Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, displays art by 3 generations of this family. Another correct response from Andrew put him at $15,900!

Once Andrew regained control, he started hopping over again, and eventually found the final Daily Double at ASTRONOMY $1600 while running away with the game! Scores were:

Andrew $23,100
Henry $6,400
Ravi $1,000

Andrew bet just $2,000. His clue: A type of this astronomical object is named for Karl Schwarzschild; his name should give you a hint. Another correct response (I didn’t get this one!) put him at $25,100. This guy is good!

Disappointingly, Ravi seemed very disinterested and bored by the end of this game. Henry did his best to avoid a runaway by Andrew, though!

Scores going into FJ!
Andrew $28,700
Henry $12,400
Ravi $3,000

FJ! category: WAR NOVELS

FJ! clue: Appropriately, the sound of musketry & artillery is described as “a crimson roar” in this story

Ravi 3000 + 2900 = 5900
Henry 12400 + 12000 = 24400
Andrew 28700 + 3800 = 32500 (3-day total, $89,302)

We’ll be back with another recap in 24 hours!
