What is Enron?
The Houston-based Enron, in 2001, suffered, at the time, the largest Chapter 11 bankruptcy in history (it’s since been surpassed by Worldcom and Lehman Brothers). It became embroiled in scandal over irregular accounting practices after it was revealed that much of its profits and revenue resulted of deals with limited partnerships that it controlled. The scandal was so big that it also ruined “Big Five” accounting firm Arthur Andersen.

double smart wager by our lieutenant. had J, stayed put and Manny been wrong, the Navy would still have won!!!
The weekly “Riddler” column on FiveThirtyEight had a “Riddler Express” asking readers to calculate the max possible player score in a single (normal) episode of “Jeopardy!”. The number I came up with was more than I was expecting. Interesting exercise to calculate that out. Probably not a new idea for you folks, though.
FYI to the regulars: I’ve set all comments this week to manual approval. Just don’t want to take any chances with things this week. Don’t worry, your comments should all come up shortly after they’re submitted.
