We started at 15 players, now we’re down to 3. Who do you think will win the 2018 College Championship? You can find my predictions at the bottom!
Thursday, April 19, and Friday, April 20, 2018:
![]() William Scott Freshman, Tufts University Los Altos, California 53 correct, 4 incorrect 43.86% in first on buzzer (49/114) 2/3 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $1,800) 2/2 in Final Jeopardy Average Coryat: $19,300 |
![]() Hannah Sage Sophomore, University of Central Florida Sarasota, Florida 35 correct, 3 incorrect 28.95% in first on buzzer (33/114) 2/2 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $5,000) 1/2 in Final Jeopardy Average Coryat: $17,500 |
![]() Dhruv Gaur Freshman, Brown University Gainesville, Georgia 46 correct, 5 incorrect 35.96% in first on buzzer (41/114) 5/5 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $12,000) 2/2 in Final Jeopardy Average Coryat: $14,500 |
Predictions:If you just look at the stats on the surface, William and Dhruv have been stronger on the buzzer than Hannah. However, Hannah has the strongest Coryat score in Double Jeopardy ($28,000 to William’s $25,200 and Dhruv’s $16,400). Hannah is definitely the most adept at handling the more difficult material, which might neutralize any sort of buzzer advantage that William and Dhruv may have. For Dhruv to have any shot, he’ll need to find at least 4 of the 6 Daily Doubles in the Final, be aggressive with them, and not be incorrect. I think that this will ultimately be a very close Final, where if you played it 10 times, that Hannah would win 4, William 4, and Dhruv 2. |
