I think the producers did a great job in terms of geographical diversity in assembling this field. Fifteen different media markets and thirteen different states, with at least two from each of the four time zones in the lower 48.
Three markets appear for the first time this season – Lexington, KY (Claire, Monday); Medford-Klamath Falls, OR (Bob, Tuesday); and Springfield, MO (Jake, Friday).
Yesterday, I learned of a most unfortunate situation that will impact viewing in Rachel’s area for her game on Tuesday – a protracted dispute between Charter Communications (operators of Spectrum Cable, the primary cable provider in the Ithaca area after Charter bought Time Warner Cable in 2016) and Northwest Broadcasting (owners of WSYT, the Fox affiliate in Syracuse on which Jeopardy airs there). Spectrum dropped Fox over three months ago and there seems to be no end in sight. (As Rachel pointed out in a Facebook comment, satellite TV customers aren’t affected.)
