Since I’ve tracked player origins by media market – that is, since the show standardized on “from” vice “originally from” at the start of 2016-17 – Charbel is the first contestant to represent the Tampa Bay market in regular play. (Each of the last two College Championships had a player who hailed from WTSP territory, but in both Seasons 33 and 34, Tampa-St. Petersburg was the largest market without a regular-play contestant.)
So why didn’t Charbel reappear on Jeopardy’s December 26, 2018 episode, as the returning champion? Instead there were three entirely different contestants.
Charbel returned on the December 25, 2018 episode: https://thejeopardyfan.com/2018/12/final-jeopardy-12-25-2018.html
