Wondering why James Holzhauer isn’t taking part? This tournament originally aired in February and March, prior to James even being known by everyone, and is re-airing over last week and this week. James returns in November.

Correct response: What is 1952?

Did you know that you can now find game-by-game stats of everyone, including James Holzhauer, who has won 10 or more games on Jeopardy!, here on the site?

More information about Final Jeopardy:

1952 was the first electoral victory for former U.S. Army general Dwight Eisenhower, who had never held public elected office before winning the Presidency. Of course, it’s not his second election, 1956, as he had won the 1952 election by that point.

Since Alex Trebek’s diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer, many community members have been raising money. The Jeopardy! Fan Online Store is as well! All proceeds from any “Keep The Faith And We’ll Win” shirt sold will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. To date, over $370 has been raised.)

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • Everyone who decided that they’d had enough of the tournament and has proceeded to skip this match? You literally just missed one of the most dramatic matches in the 35-year history of the show. If this 30-something guy has the meme down, I believe the phrase is “Congratulations, you played yourself”.
  • I don’t know what else to say. From what I’ve heard since seeing this result, it seemed like everyone knew that this was a surprise result and an upset. But hey, that’s why you play the games!
