Correct response: Who is Harper Lee?

Did you know that you can now find game-by-game stats of everyone, now including Jason Zuffranieri and James Holzhauer, who has won 10 or more games on Jeopardy!, here on the site?

More information about Final Jeopardy:

Harper Lee, best known for To Kill a Mockingbird, named the family of the protagonist in that book the Finch family for that reason; the book had autobiographical elements to it. In fact, Dill in To Kill a Mockingbird is based upon Truman Capote, who was a close childhood friend of Lee. Lee generally used the name Nelle in real life and generally eschewed personal publicity for the last fifty-plus years of her life.

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • A 2nd-place score of $10,400 has a 35.183% chance of advancing as a wild card; Kylie was absolutely correct to make an aggressive wager in Final Jeopardy as the historical data says that she likely needed a correct response in Final Jeopardy! in order to advance. Remember, contestants are sequestered during the quarterfinals; she would have had no idea that the position she was in would have left her in a better spot than normal in this specific tournament.

I liked seeing Alistair mimic James Holzhauer on one of his Daily Doubles. Too bad it didn’t work out for him.
