Pulitzer and Nobel Prize-winning writer Toni Morrison is best known for 1987’s Beloved, which won her the Pulitzer. When she died in 2019, Oprah memorialized her in an Instagram post, saying, “She was a magician with language, who understood the Power of words. She used them to roil us, to wake us, to educate us and help us grapple with our deepest wounds and try to comprehend them.”
