Today’s Final Jeopardy – Thursday, October 14, 2021

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category U.S. History) for Thursday, October 14, 2021 (Season 38, Game 24):

On Sept. 30, 1788 William Maclay & Robert Morris, both of Pennsylvania, were chosen as the first 2 these

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s contestants:

Ray Kimball, a retired Army officer from West Point, New York
Ray Kimball on Jeopardy!
Aline Dolinh, an MFA candidate from Allston, Massachusetts
Aline Dolinh on Jeopardy!
Jonathan Fisher, an actor originally from Coral Gables, Florida (3-day total: $70,000)
Jonathan Fisher on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: Jonathan Fisher has proven to be a very worthy champion, picking up his 3rd win yesterday. Today’s game is crucial for him, as a victory today should cement his spot in the next Tournament of Champions, whenever that might come.

On a slightly more personal note: From October 16-23, there will be a 168-hour charity live-streaming relay on Twitch to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada; more information can be found at gamersvsms.ca. 1 in 385 Canadians live with MS. I’ll be doing my shift as part of the relay on Thursday, October 21 from 2:00 AM to 8:00 AM EDT on my own Twitch channel, twitch.tv/andythequizzer/.

PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they are able to. When wearing a mask, ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

U.S. Senators were originally appointed by state legislatures as their representatives to the U.S. Senate; Maclay and Morris were the first U.S. Senators appointed, on Sept. 30, 1788.

Do note that there is a chance that today’s results may be delayed here on this site; I am undergoing some health issues today that may need rectifying. Hopefully I’ll be able to report at the normal time.

  1. Oops! When I hit enter my computer switched my colon and comma to an actual yellow smiley face so it no longer is the same as hers, making it look like I think people don’t know what “written” smiley faces look like, or perhaps that I don’t!

What did Aline write for her Final answer? I can’t remember!
