Warning: This page contains spoilers for the February 5, 2024, game of Jeopardy! — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. Please note that the game airs as early as noon Eastern in some U.S. television markets.

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category World Flags) for Monday, February 5, 2024 (Season 40, Game 106):

The flag of this Asian nation features part of a World Heritage Site built in the 12th century

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Jesse Chin, an accounting director from Bayside, New York
Jesse Chin on Jeopardy!
Mira Hayward, a podcast host from Portland, Oregon
Mira Hayward on Jeopardy!
Kate Campolieta, a corporate communications specialist from Simsbury, Connecticut
Kate Campolieta on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Today’s opening quarterfinal is between Kate Campolieta, Mira Hayward, and Jesse Chin. As I said in my preview yesterday, both myself and the prediction model think that Mira is favored to win this one, but Jesse could easily perform much better than his initial games if he struggles less on the buzzer this time out. Don’t count out Kate, either—everyone in this event is a Jeopardy! champion and is very capable of a victory.

The flag of Cambodia, as asked about during Final Jeopardy on February 5, 2024.

The flag of Cambodia (pictured above) contains two blue stripes, a red stripe in the center, and a three-towered temple in the middle, with the temple representing the country’s famed Angkor Wat. Interestingly, despite its various changes in leadership over the past few decades, some representation of the temple has always featured on the country’s flag.

The temple complex at Angkor Wat was built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II as a state temple and mausoleum The Angkor area, which had served as a capital of the Khmer Empire from the 9th to 15th Century, was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • I know it’s technically up to the player to realize the situation (and kudos to Jesse for doing so), but I still wish Ken would remind players that they can bet up to $2,000 on a Daily Double in Double Jeopardy if their score is not that high.
  • If you are going to report on the fact that this is believed to be the first game in the show’s history where all three players bet $0 in Final Jeopardy, I respectfully request that a citation is provided to me. I do not do this research only for it to be repeated without credit.
  • Today’s box score will be linked to when posted by the show.

2 Comments on "Today’s Final Jeopardy – Monday, February 5, 2024"

  1. Cambodia’s flag is one of about 60 national flags that I can recognize from their uniqueness (thanks to a favorite sporcle quiz). I didn’t know the name of the site or that it’s a World Heritage Site, but the name of the country was obvious to me with the clue that it’s Asian.

It was exciting to watch the race through the low-dollar clues to see if Mira could get the runaway.

  2. haven’t visited this site for months (maybe over a year?), but when I saw the triple 0 FJ wagers, my immediate thought was “hey, this should make JeopardyFan Andy happy!” because I remembered you mentioning way back that you’d hoped that would happen someday
