Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Politicians) for Friday, March 13, 2026 (Season 42, Game 135):
In a 1984 speech, he said, “Our flag is red, white & blue” but America has “many colors…held together by a common thread”
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:
Robin Richardson, a city planner from Memphis, Tennessee
|
Jamie Ding, a bureaucrat & law student from Lawrenceville, New Jersey
|
Luke Henson, a grocer from East Moline, Illinois (1-day total: $16,798)
|
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
We have a new champion on this Friday in Luke Henson, who took down 4-time champion James Denison in yesterday’s game. Today, he faces off against Jamie Ding and Robin Richardson.
It’s also an important day for fans of the celebrity version of the show—for the first time this season, fans get a double dose of the game! Airing tonight on ABC and CTV at 8:00 (7:00 Central) is the first quarterfinal of Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars between Saturday Night Live alumna Rachel Dratch, Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominee Mark Duplass, and sports commentator Katie Nolan. I’ll be posting a live blog over on the Celebrity Jeopardy! recap page during the show this evening.

An important thing that I would like to note today: Today’s game was recorded on February 10, 2026, prior to Jesse Jackson’s death.
Widely known in the 1980s as one of the era’s most influential African-American activists, Jesse Jackson was the founder of the Rainbow/PUSH coalition, having pursued social justice for over 50 years, as well as running for the Democratic nomination for President twice in the 1980s, finishing third in 1984 and second in 1988. The speech referred to in today’s Final Jeopardy clue was given by Jackson at the 1984 Democratic National Convention on July 18, 1984, speaking of America as a quilt of many patches held together with a common thread. PBS’s Frontline has the full text of the speech.
Should this clue play 3/3? Yes. Will this clue play easier at home than anyone thought at time of taping, because of Jackson’s passing? Yes. I hope it does play 3/3 today, for the sake of our contestants.

Game Recap:
Today’s game started out quite well for both of our challengers; both were over $6,000 through 30 clues as Luke struggled with incorrect responses early in his title defense.
Jamie continued the strong run in Double Jeopardy, finding both Daily Doubles on back-to-back clues and picking up a runaway despite an incorrect response on the first one and a conservative bet on the second.
Scores going into Final:
Jamie $22,600
Robin $10,600
Luke $8,000
Tonight’s results:
Luke $8,000 – $1,689 = $6,311 (Who is Almir Beganovic?)
Robin $10,600 – $5,600 = $5,000 (Who is Jimmy Carter?)
Jamie $22,600 + $33 = $22,633 (Who is Jesse Jackson?) (1-day total: $22,633)

Game Stats:
Jamie $26,400 Coryat, 27 correct, 3 incorrect, 45.61% in first on buzzer (26/57), 1/2 on rebound attempts (on 4 rebound opportunities)
Luke $8,000 Coryat, 11 correct, 3 incorrect, 24.56% in first on buzzer (14/57), 0/0 on rebound attempts (on 2 rebound opportunities)
Robin $10,000 Coryat, 17 correct, 1 incorrect, 26.32% in first on buzzer (15/57), 2/2 on rebound attempts (on 4 rebound opportunities)
Combined Coryat Score: $44,400
Jamie Ding, to win:
2 games: 56.373%
3: 31.779%
4: 17.915%
5: 10.099%
6: 5.693%
Avg. streak: 2.292 games.
Andy’s Thoughts:
- I think today’s game illustrates why it’s probably not the best idea to just go for a shoutout in Final Jeopardy—because the subject of the clue could die between taping and airing and you’re now seen as going for a shoutout instead of attempting to name a recently-deceased major African-American figure. I can see a lot of fans being very offended by this tonight.
- Today’s J!6 clues can be found at the monthly archive.
Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:
(Scores: Jamie $22,600 Robin $10,600 Luke $8,000)
Luke: In the battle for second, bet between $2,601 and $2,799. (Actual bet: $1,689)
Jamie: Bet no more than $1,399 and enjoy your win. (Actual bet: $33)
Robin: Standard cover bet is $5,401. (Actual bet: $5,600)
