Andy’s Thoughts:

  • Tonight’s score by James is tied for the 5th-highest one-day total of all time. James now holds the top 8 one-day totals, and 10 of the top 12.
  • James’ average winning total, $76,624, is only $376 less than the previous one-day record.
  • The prediction model gives James a 65.938% of surpassing Ken Jennings’ total of $2,520,700.
  • If James wins more than $62,830 tomorrow, he will break his record of “most money won in a taping session”, set last week at $436,891.
  • James is the first player in the show’s history to get 15 of their first 16 Final Jeopardy! clues correct.
  • With 572 correct responses, James moves to #4 on the all-time list in terms of number of correct responses, passing David Madden. Julia Collins is #3 on the list (584).
  • $90,812 is a reference to James’ wedding anniversary (9/8/12), much like his frequent $9,812 bets on Daily Doubles.
