Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune Halt Production over COVID-19

According to a tweet from the Jeopardy! official Twitter account, both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune have suspended production, effective immediately, due to the increasing concern surrounding COVID-19.

The show’s tweet said, “The health and well-being of our contestants, staff, and crew are our top priority, and we will continue to monitor the situation as it develops”.

According to my records here at The Jeopardy! Fan, it appears as though Jeopardy! currently has enough episodes taped to air until June 12, 2020. I have received confirmation from multiple parties that both the College Championship and Teachers Tournament taped prior to the suspension of production and will air, the College Championship from April 6-17 and the Teachers Tournament from May 25-June 5.

The show had already begun taping without an audience as of the March 10 taping.

This also doesn’t come as a surprise here at The Jeopardy! Fan, as both Alex Trebek and Johnny Gilbert are very much in the at-risk populations COVID-19.

Updates to this story may be posted as more information becomes known.

You can take the Jeopardy! contestant test anytime through April 30! Looking to practice beforehand? You can find questions and answers to all 3 of the January 2020 online tests here!

I wonder what James is doing these days with no sports to bet on.

  2. Are they going to show reruns all week like they do here on Saturdays? If not, what are we addicts to do??

  3. Timing was perfect regarding the fact that last year we had the joy and privilege to witness history being made on this wonderful show. From a TV proposal to James Holzhauer to Mr. Trebek having a soft spot for a contestant’s “answer” being “We Love You, Alex”!
