Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
The last of our nine quarterfinals in the 2025 Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament featured Seth Wilson, Jackson Jones, and Juveria Zaheer, which means that we are just 11 days away from the return of regular play and the beginning of Season 42. Jackson played very well in both the 2019 Teen Tournament and the 2023 High School Reunion Tournament, while Juveria was the breakout star of Season 40 and Seth Wilson was a superchampion back in 2016, winning a dozen games.

When most quizzers think about the De Stijl art movement, founded in the Netherlands in the early 20th century, they certainly think about Piet Mondrian, whose extremely distinctive paintings feature grids prominently, with those grids separating rectangles filled with both colors and white space.

Game Recap:
This game definitely went the way of the Daily Doubles. While Jackson led at the midway point, Seth’s incorrect response on a Daily Double dropped him to third place, while Juveria led going into Final on the strength of a correct True Daily Double midway through the round. When all three of our players got Piet Mondrian correct in Final Jeopardy, it sent Juveria through to the semifinals, beginning tomorrow.
Scores going into Final:
Juveria $16,000
Jackson $10,800
Seth $6,400
Tonight’s results:
Seth $6,400 + $6,399 = $12,799 (Who is Mondrian??)
Jackson $10,800 + $5,201 = $16,001 (Who is Mondrian? <3)
Juveria $16,000 + $5,601 = $21,601 (Who is Mondrian? <3 H+Z) (Semi-Finalist)
Game Stats:
