Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Broadway Revivals) for Friday, December 11, 2020 (Season 37, Game 65):
Ads for the 2020 revival of this musical said “Something’s coming. Something good”; a new movie version is also coming
(correct response beneath the contestants)
We may have lost Alex, but the show must go on. Alex wouldn’t want it any other way. Please, let’s remember him over the next few weeks of banked episodes, and then afford him the same respect to his successors that we afforded Alex when he replaced Art Fleming in 1984. Alex’s last episode airs Friday, January 8, 2021; Ken Jennings’ first episode as guest host airs on January 11.
Today’s contestants:
Kate Freeman, a financial analyst originally from Lake Orion, Michigan![]() |
Nizar Abdalla, a finance manager from San Mateo, California![]() |
Kendra Blanchette, a registered dietician from Elk Grove, California (2-day total: $40,601)![]() |
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to abide by physical distancing guidelines and when you are not able to do so, properly wear a mask. Ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Before being put on hiatus due to COVID-19 in March, the 2020 revival of Leonard Bernstein & Stephen Sondheim’s West Side Story saw all of 24 performances. The film version from Steven Spielberg, set to be released in December 2020, has been pushed back to December 2021. The story is an imagining of Romeo and Juliet in the Upper West Side of New York in the 1950s, detailing a rivalry between the Jets and Sharks gangs. (“Something’s Coming” is a well-known song from Act I of the musical.)

Andy’s Thoughts:
- I liked how Kate had the presence of mind to respond in THE MOVIE’S TITLE QUESTION $1200 with just the title of the film—because it was already in question form. This is definitely allowed.
- Because this always seems to come up, I would like to unequivocally state that from what I heard, the responses to all of the clues were within the bounds of the show’s rules when it comes to phrasing in form of a question.
- Kendra’s best chances of winning come if she bets between $2,801 and $3,599 in Final Jeopardy.
- Interestingly, this episode taped the day after Tampa Bay won the 2020 Stanley Cup, so Kate’s interview would have been very fresh.

I have the song on my phone.
Maybe somebody will get this one. Lately the FJ! results were rather, well, not so on the mark.
Have a nice weekend y’all!!!
Well, the third total whipeout this week.
wipeout, sorry.
Unfortunately, I got this one…I’d heard about the movie revival 🙁
The line in the ad is straight out of the song. 60 Minutes did a story back in early 2020, or maybe even late 2019, about the stage revival. Very interesting concepts for staging. Hope the revival does indeed come back once Broadway re-opens.
I would think someone should get this, but i have been surprised by some clues that have turned into Triple Stumpers, on things that i thought at least one of the contestants should know. I guess some things are easier to remember if you have lived through them, or remember them from growing up.
Odd game. All 3 players with the exact same first-on-buzzer percentage, Nizar having the same outcome as Gabriel yesterday, Nizar having DD deja vu 24 clues apart, and a strong champ losing on a Friday. Have a good weekend.
I grew up in that neighborhood in that decade, went to all of Bernstein’s children’s concerts and know every song, knew it immediately.
This was an easy one for me… I’ve seen the play 4 times & own the original cast recording 🙂
Officially, the title “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” doesn’t carry a question mark, since in some circles in show biz having a question mark on a title is considered bad luck. So technically the title is actually just a statement, as in “We’re gonna find out who framed Roger Rabbit.” But it works just as well as a question for Jeopardy purposes.
I kinda knew, only by reason of deduction….
I don’t mean to be rude or impatient, but when will Zach Newkirk come back? It’s been 13 weeks and we still haven’t seen him.
Considering we’re in the middle of a pandemic, I think you’re being both rude AND impatient.
Yeah, sorry about that.
Also, did Nizar do the same thing as Gabriel in the previous game when it comes to their wagers in Final?
